1. Who we are

Archetype Individual LLC (“Archetype Individual,” “we,” “us”) operates archetypeindividual.com. For privacy questions, contact privacy@archetypeindividual.com.

2. What we collect

• Account — email, password (hashed), and authentication data.
• Profile & onboarding — display name, archetype, interests, goals, and the “seed” you provide (thinkers, what you're reading).
• Your content — items you save to your library, notes, highlights, glossary terms, and research you create.
• Connections — if you connect a third-party account (e.g. YouTube, Spotify), the access tokens needed to read the data you authorize.
• Payments — processed by Stripe; we receive limited billing details, never your full card number.
• Usage — basic, privacy-respecting analytics and security logs.

3. How we use it

• To provide and personalize the service (your library, search, recommendations, learning paths).
• To power AI features you invoke (see §4).
• To process payments and prevent fraud.
• To send transactional and, if you opt in, product email.
• To secure the service and comply with law.

4. AI processing

When you use an AI feature (e.g. “ask your library,” define a term), the relevant text is sent to our AI providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) to generate a response. These providers do not train their models on data sent through their APIs, and we request zero-/limited-retention terms. We do not use your private content to train any model.

5. We do not sell your data

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers for cross-context behavioral advertising. Any sponsorships or affiliate links shown are not based on selling your data.

6. Who we share with (sub-processors)

We use trusted vendors to run the service. Each processes data only to provide its function:

7. Your rights & choices

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data. Delete your account anytime in Settings, or email privacy@archetypeindividual.com to make a request (access, portability, deletion, or to opt out of any sale/share — which we do not do). Depending on where you live (e.g. EEA/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights; we honor them.

8. Retention

We keep your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service or meet legal obligations. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is legally required.

9. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls, row-level security). No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children

The service is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. For family/homeschool use, a parent or guardian manages the account; we do not create separate accounts for children under 13.

11. International users

We operate from the United States; using the service means your data may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate, with appropriate safeguards.

We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new date.
